＜洋楽歌詞の和訳＞Bad Habits by Ed Sheeran

エド・シーランの歌です。PVで冒険してみてますね！普段の彼ではないようです。少しぎこちない動きなので見てるこちらがハラハラしてしまう感じ。
悪い癖とのことですが、一体何のことを言ってるのでしょう。


BBCのインタビューで、娘の出産を機に不健康な生活習慣を改めたと語っています。
ここの悪い癖は、エドがよくやっていた遅くまで起きて飲酒していることなのでしょうか！？また、エド・シーランと言えば、アコースティックギターを弾きながらダンスを踊っているイメージがありますが、そのイメージも今回のPVで一変させたかったと言っています。

be broke の意味

この表現は覚えていますでしょうか？
PRETTYMUCH の Summer On You の歌詞にも出てきました！
誰かがお金がほとんどない状態を意味します。

get by の意味

様々な困難な状況を乗り越えながらも、がんばって生きることです。
to be able to live or deal with a situation with difficulty, usually by having just enough of something you need, such as money

work for の意味

このフレーズはとてもよく使われます。
work とつくので働くと認識してしまうのですが、必ずしも働くことではなく、ここでは働く以外の意味で使われている気がします。
何かに向かって励む、努力することをイメージさせます。

on my mind と in my mind の違い

in のほうは気にかけているニュアンス、しかもしばらくの間ずっと。念頭に置いてるイメージでしょうか。on の場合は、今現在という感覚が強く、懸念しているとのイメージが強めとのことです。

Stack it up の意味

stack とは積み上げることです。
ここではお金を積み上げていく意味で、お金を貯めることやお金持ちの状態を意味しているのだと解釈しました。札束が積み上げられるイメージです。

flex の意味

通常は flex （動詞）は体の部位を曲げるって意味ですが、ここでは違うように感じます。調べてみるとスラングでは、自慢する、誇張する、見せびらかすという意味があるみたいなので、歌詞の内容から判断するとそっちですね！

doeの意味

doe はメスのシカを意味しますが、ここではスラングの だよね といったようなあまり意味のない語ということで下記サイトを参考にしました。
特にこの歌詞の中では dude や bro のと同じ感じに聞こえます。

悲しい歌です。元彼女が他の男性といるところを見かけて、僕といたときよりも幸せそうに見えると歌っています。彼はまだ彼女のことが好きですね。歌詞から分かるのは、彼が彼女を傷つけたことがあるのでしょう。それが原因で別れたのかは分かりませんが、まだ彼女のことが忘れられずにいます。

エド・シーランの歌です。情景が目に浮かぶような歌詞です。イギリスのサフォーク州フラムリンガムを思い出しながら書いたそう。故郷や旧友っていいものですね。エド・シーランは2018年に結婚しました。お相手は長く付き合った幼馴染の彼女でしたね。

イギリス出身の彼ですが、アメリカ英語を聞きなれている私には、歌の中の can’t の発音がすごいイギリスっぽいのでこの歌を聞くたびにおぉっ！と少しかまえてしまいます。

イギリスって音楽史上で有名人をたくさん生みますね！なぜなんでしょうか。
